Band - Dima Bondarev Quintet

Dima’s devotion to jazz has been transforming into lifelong passion since the early childhood. From his early 20th Dima forms part of famous Ukrainian jazz band Acoustic Quartet and Magnifika group (active member of both bands till present time), since 2007 participates in various international music contests and festivals in Russia and Ukraine, wins Grand Prix at MuzEnergo Festival 2010, Grand Prix at Usadba Jazz Festival 2010 and first award at International Contest of Young Jazz Performers named after Kim Nazaretov (Rostov-on-Don, 2011). In 2011 and 2015 Dima wins the scholarship “Gaude Polonia” of the minister of culture of Poland and studies under the guidance of famous Polish trumpet players Piotr Wojtasik and Robert Majewski. Dima has been collaborating with many outstanding musicians of European and American scenes, among them - Greg Cohen, Joey Baron, Karl Frierson, Steve Turre and Joel Holmes. Currently he continues mastering his jazz potential and technique in Jazz Institute Berlin with prof. Gerard Presencer, Greg Cohen and can be often found in Berlin clubs concerts and jam sessions. Dima organized his international Quintet which consist mostly of students of JIB. This project won the 2nd price of '50. Jazz and Odra festival' in Wroclaw (Poland, 2014), the 1st Price of Festival de Jazz à Montauban (France, 2014) and JIB-Jazz-Preis 2015 Der Karl Hofer Gesellschaft Gestiftet von Toni und Albrecht Kumm. His performances can be described as artistically natural, vibrant and unconventional.
