Band - Rigmor Gustafsson

Rigmor grew up on the countryside in Varmland in Sweden. She’s been studying at the Royal Music College in Stockholm 1987-1991, and at the New Shool Jazz program in New York between 1993-1995 under a.o. ReggieWorkman, Joe Chambers, Gil Goldstein, Richie Beirach, Phil Markowitz and Sheila Jordan. In NYC she formed her first quintet with whom she released her first 2 CD’s. Back in Sweden she formed a new quintet and released her third CD. In 2003 she got signed to the German label ACT and has since then released 4 more CD’s, “I will wait for you”, “Close to you” and “On my way to you”, which all have sold Gold in Sweden. “I will wait för you” also received a Jazz Award in Germany and was, just like “Close to you”, also nominated for a Grammy in Sweden. Her latest CD "Alone with you" (w/ Jonas Östholm-pi, Max Schultz- gi, Lars Danielsson- bass, Eric Harland- dr) released in Oct 2007, recently received a Grammy in Sweden.
Rigmor has recorded and performed with a.o. Nils Landgren, Lars Danielsson, Jacky Terrasson, Eric Harland, Wolfgang Haffner, Hans Glawischnig, Dick Oatts, RandyBrecker, Bob Mintzer, Peter Asplund, Karl- Martin Almqvist, Jacob Karlzon, Magnus Lindgren and also performed with Fred Hersch, Bobo Stenson, Palle Danielsson, Avishai Cohan, Mark Turner, Jamire Williams, Seamus Blake and Putte Wickman to name a few.
