The Somnambulist is a Berlin based trio of gentlemen playing savage music - or just the opposite as well – in which western art-punk meets ancient and arabic music, and experimental songwriting crosses contemporary improvisation: three musicians stranded in the “arm aber sexy” Big Apple of Europe during the 10s, after the political and social storms in Italy and France, and already known by european audiences for their former and current activities:
Marco Bianciardi, several cross-disciplines since 1991 between Chianti and Bologna: singing in Hotel Ambiente, drumming in Jane Walton and Elton Junk, performing guitar in Caboto, composing live soundtracks for several theatre plays and directing the medium-length movie “Liebe Macht Frei”;
Rafael Bord, multicultural playing on violin and oud: with Les Hurlements d’Léo in Bordeaux (ten years of subversive punk-chanson), also inside La République du Sauvage with L’Enfance Rouge and currently touring with balkan bands (such as BudZillus and Shmaltz) and writing for theater and cinema;
Marcello S. Busato, underground and experimental works in contemporary jazz and uncommon drumming: in Berlin with Sink and several trios and quartets (along side musicians such Chris Abrahams, Axel Dörner, Els Vandeweyer, Tobias Schirmer and Pablo Juanes), formerly with Margareth Kammerer, Mondo and Weltanschaung in Italy.
